St. Louis Rams
The St. Louis Rams were owners of the worst record in the NFL last season and now are owners of the best pick in the NFL Draft. There has been much discussion as to the player they should take with the top pick. The Rams basically have a top flight running back and then are filled with holes across the board the rest of the way.
Initially it was assumed that the Rams would take Suh, the defensive lineman from Nebraska with the top pick, but now it appears that the Rams are looking to pick up a quarterback. Sam Bradford is the top quarterback available talent-wise but seems to have some questions surrounding him. He injured his throwing shoulder twice last year and has since had surgery on it. There are questions as to whether his velocity and mechanics will still be there.
If all is well in his delivery and velocity it is a safe bet to say that he will go with the top pick. If he has question marks at all expect the Rams to go with a more sure bet with the first pick, such as Suh.
With their 2nd round pick it would not be unreasonable for them to seek a receiver to welcome in the new quarterback. Arrelious Benn from Illinois or Brandon LaFell could be possible picks here for the Rams. They could also go for a solid defensive lineman after passing on Suh in the first round. If Eversen Griffen is available here, the Rams may need to take him. His stock has been falling and it is possible he slips to the 2nd round.
If the Rams decide to go with a lineman in round two it can be expected that Demaryius Thomas from Georgia Tech would be a solid pickup at wide receiver. If not, it would be great to see the Rams pick up speedy tight end Dorin Dickerson. A solid tight end could be a huge help for a rookie quarterback.
