Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins have a lot to look at this offseason as they step towards draft day after putting up a lousy 4-12 record on the season. The main struggle for this squad last season was simply putting up points on the board as they managed just 266 on the season.

Jason Campbell had solid numbers last year, but has not shown that he is a quarterback that can carry a team for a season. The Redskins will have the opportunity with the 4th pick in the draft to take either Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen, depending on who the Rams decide to leave for them. Either QB would have the opportunity to come in right away and compete for a job.

To aide their new quarterback a new receiving option would also be useful. Wide Receiver Arrelious Benn from Illinois is the type of athlete that could help out if he’s available when the 2nd round starts.

In round three the Redskins will have the opportunity to draft a guy that can step up if Clinton Portis starts to decline this season. He is just one season removed from his 1400+ yard output but is nearing the danger zone of an NFL runningback career, the 30 year old mark.  Toby Gerhart of Stanford could be a guy that could step in if Clinton Portis doesn’t pan out this season.
