New York Giants
The New York Giants proved to be a team last year that had the ability to put points on the board, but did not have the defense needed to put teams away, surrendering 427 points on the season. The Giants at this point have struggles on both sides of the ball and will need some help in the draft to improve the 8-8 record that they posted last season.
The pass rush of the New York Giants could use some work after only supplying 32 sacks last season. No defensive player produced more than 7 sacks on the season last year and the Giants could use a defensive end to help out with this struggle. There is a chance that a defensive end like Derrick Morgan of Georgia Tech could be available at the 15th pick and he would be a huge help to this defense.
Running back Brandon Jacobs simply didn’t get it done last season. It’s difficult to rely on a back that averaged just 3.7 yards a carry last season. With a balanced pass and running attack the Giants could potentially control the clock, allowing their defense more time to rest. Jahvid Best from California could be a good pickup at this spot if available for the Giants in the 2nd round.
The Linebacker position is also a weakness for the Giants in the upcoming season. With their 3rd round pick they could have the opportunity to add some strength and depth to the position by landing A.J. Edds from Iowa.
A guy like Edds would just give another option for this team that did not seem to have defensive flow or chemistry all season.
