Cincinnati Bengals

During the offseason, the Cincinnati Bengals have made a lot of changes to their wide receiver corpse, thus addressing one of their most pressing needs.  They added Antonio Bryant, Matt Jones, and Chris Davis and released Lavernaues Coles. Although the Bengals don’t use their tight end much in their passing game, quarterback Carson Palmer would be thrilled to have another option when he goes back to pass.

They will also be looking to add a safety and a defensive linemen in the draft. The Bengals just resigned DT Tank Johnson who had a decent season last year.  However, adding depth to the defensive line remains a priority to the organization.

Taylor Mays (S, USC) will be tough for the Bengals to pass on if he’s still on the board when they use their first round pick (21st overall).  If Mays is unavailable, Brian Prince (DT, UCLA) would be a great selection.  As mentioned earlier, tight end isn’t a big part of Cincinnati’s offense but Carson Palmer would love to have Jermaine Gresham (TE, Oklahoma) as an option and he will likely still be on the board.

Their next pick will be in the second round (54th overall).  Unless they draft Prince in the first round, they will likely use this selection a defensive tackle.  If Lamarr Houston (DT, Texas) is available, he would be a great pickup.  He is an above-average defender against the run who would add depth to the defensive line and may give starter Tank Johnson tough competition for the starting role.

If the Bengals are able to use one of their first two picks on a TE, they will likely use their third round pick (84th overall) on a safety (and vice versa).  The best prospects who may still be on the board are Morgan Burnett (S, Georgia Tech) and Rob Gronkowski (TE, Arizona).
