Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens have already made a big splash during the offseason, acquiring Pro Bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin from the Arizona Cardinals. They also added WR Dante’ Stallworth as an unrestricted free agent, giving quarterback Joe Flacco the most weapons of his young career.
The Ravens aren’t done looking for receiving options for Flacco to work with. They seem set on finding a tight end in the draft after watching current TE Todd Heap’s production diminish. They are also seeking to upgrade at cornerback, after falling victim to their current corners’ passing interference penalties in this past season’s playoffs. Once they have drafted a tight end and a corner, they will likely look to upgrade at DT.
Jermaine Gresham (TE, Oklahoma) is the top-rated tight end of his class and will likely be the Raven’s pick if he’s still available when they use their first round pick (25th overall). He is an impressive pass catcher and would be another valuable addition to an already much improved group of receivers.
The Ravens pick again in the second round with the 57th overall pick. Expect them to take a cornerback with this pick. With top CB prospects Joe Haden, Kyle Wilson, Kareem Jackson, and Devin McCourty likely off the board by this time, they will look at the next tier of CB’s which includes Patrick Robinson (Florida State), Perrish Cox (Oklahoma State), and Amari Spievey (Iowa).
The Ravens will not be picking in rounds 3 and 4 as a result sending those picks away in the Boldin trade. Their next pick won’t come until the fifth round (156th overall). Tony Moeaki (TE, Iowa) or Ed Dickson (TE, Oregon) will likely be available in case the Ravens miss on drafting a tight end in the first two rounds. C.J. Wilson (DE/DT, East Carolina) may also be available and has the potential to be a great addition to the Raven’s defensive line.
