Carolina Panthers at Pittsburgh Steelers on NFL Thursday
The Carolina Panthers will head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers this weekend. These two teams are in very different positions at this point. The Steelers are one of the best teams in the league with a record of 10-4. Meanwhile, the Panthers are the worst team in the NFL. They are coming off of their second victory, however.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be the point favorites in NFL Odds.
This game spells trouble for the Panthers as they will be going against one of the best defenses in the league. The Panthers really rely on their running game as their passing game has been in disarray all season. The bad news is that the Steelers have the best rushing defense in the NFL. They allow just 63 yards per game.
If the game is put in the hands of Jimmy Clausen this will be a long game for the Panthers. While Clausen has shown signs of promise, this Pittsburgh defense has been known to get to quarterbacks and force mistakes.
The Carolina defense will need to try to control the running game of the Steelers. While Ben Roethlisberger is a great quarterback, he really is able to take advantage of opponents when their running game is working as well. The Panthers do not have a great rush defense, but if they can pull it together for this game and keep the score low they will have their best shot at winning.
