NFL Preseason: New York Jets @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Jets in the last NFL preseason game for both teams on Thursday (7:30 pm ET, CBS).

NFL Odds have the Eagles as a 1-point favorite and the over/under total at 35 in various online NFL football betting websites.

The teams are entering the 2010 NFL season with different expectations.

The Jets are loaded with confidence after a huge season in 2009. New York surprised many by finishing second in the AFC East with a 9-7 SU and ATS record, and then going on an extended playoff run in which the Jets beat the Cincinnati Bengals 24–14 in the Wild Card round and the San Diego Chargers 17-14 in the divisional playoffs.

The Jets’ season ended when they dropped a 30-17 decision against the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Conference championship.

The Eagles, on the other hand, enter the season without Pro Bowl quarterback Donavan McNabb. The Eagles ended up 2nd in the NFC East with an 11-5 SU and 9-7 ATS record last season, but did nothing in the NFL Playoffs as the Jets, losing 34-14 to NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs.

The Jets have struggled in recent meetings with the Eagles, going 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS in the past three clashes. The teams last met on Oct. 14, 2007, when the Eagles won 16-9 and cashed as a 4.5-point road favorite.
