NFL: Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints Preview

The Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints will kick off the season with what may be one of the best games that this season will have to offer. These two teams were two of the best teams in the NFC last season and both have high hopes for the 2010 season.

The Saints are coming off of a dream season in which they went to distance and took home a Super Bowl victory. The Saints displayed an offense that was historically prolific last season. Drew Brees, the quarterback of the Saints, was an excellent quarterback and leader for the Saints.

The Saints running game is an interesting one. The Saints have a big name running back in Reggie Bush, but he has never produced the way he was expected to. The Saints do not use him as a featured option in their offense, but they do use him to keep the other team honest. Though he does not produce big numbers, his speed causes the other team to keep an eye on him at all times.

The Vikings have finally ended the drama that continued throughout the offseason surrounding Brett Favre. Favre was on and off with whether or not he was going to return, but he has finally decided to return. One thing to pay attention to this year is that Favre will be missing Rice, his top receiver for the foreseeable future.

Adrian Peterson will be expected to carry a lot of the load this season. He had a down season last year, but he will still be seen as one of the best backs in the year entering the season.
