Preview – NFL Season – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

A team of obvious struggles is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They are also down on popularity charts in NFL lines. They only managed to win 3 games in 2009. Over the course of the season, the Bucs were outscored by more than 150 points. This season with all of their issues, the Buccaneers may not be ready to make the playoffs, but they can go a ways towards improving their team.

Cadillac Williams is one question that is surrounding the Buccaneers. On a tear, Cadillac Williams came into the NFL. Throughout the whole season, he looked like the type of running back that would be able to carry the load for a team. Ever since, he has never been the same sort of workhorse and that season he began to wear down a bit. Whether or not he will ever return to the level of one of the top running backs in the game is hard to tell.

Whether the Buccaneers can put a quarterback on the field that will produce, is another question for them. To find a franchise level quarterback, the team has struggled for years. To take the helm, they have been unable to find someone and they are dealing with Josh Freeman.

Last year Freeman did put up the type of numbers that the Bucs need him too, although he may develop in time. Last season, he turned the ball over 20 times and he will need to improve on that if the Bucs look to win games.

From competing for the playoffs, the Bucs are still a few years away, but 2010 could be a year of progress.
