NFL Season Preview: Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons will enter the 2010 season with the hope of shocking the world. Last season the Saints had their magical season, but the Falcons believe that they have what it takes to dethrone them from their spot atop the division.
The Falcons are led by Matt Ryan. Matt Ryan is a young quarterback that show poise past his years. He has the accuracy and arm strength necessary to be one of the top quarterbacks in the league. One concern is that his performance last year was actually a step back from his play the year before. Ryan had an amazing year for a first year quarterback, but was not able to duplicate such success in 2009.
The Falcons have a rushing attack that is powerful to say the least. Michael Turner is a horse of a running back. His power and speed are a combination that makes him a hammer up the middle. Two seasons ago he had one of the best seasons in the NFL. Last year he was plagued by injuries, but still managed a solid season despite missing 5 games.
The Falcons have the tools on offense, they will just need to sure up their defense a bit. Their defense was solid, but they do have work to do if they expect to be a dominant team in the league.
Barring any issues of injuries the Falcons will be one of the favorites to compete for a wild card spot in the playoffs in 2010.
