Indianapolis Colts: NFL Season Preview

The Indianapolis Colts, in the NFL in 2009 were once again one of the best teams and in 2010; they look to bring similar success to the table. For years, the Colts have been near the top of the league and it is no mystery why.

In the NFL, Peyton Manning is proving to be one of the greatest players to ever play. To carry the team through the ups and downs of the season, Manning is a good enough player.

Since 2002, Manning has not had a quarterback rating under 95 and he has only had one year in his career under 84. It was his rookie season that year. In two seasons of his career, he has never thrown for less than 26 touchdowns in a season, although he has thrown for more than 4000 yards in all. In 2010, it is pretty clear what the Colts are going to get from Manning.

On offense, the Colts have always been great. To go deep in the playoffs, the question each year is whether or not their defense will be tough. Whether or not Dwight Freeney will be able to come back at full strength, will be one question that will come up.

Last year, many remember the issues that Freeney’s ankle had in the playoffs. In the game, Freeney is one of the best defensive players and makes all of the difference for the Colts on defense. For the Colt’s success in 2010, his health will be a key factor.
