Philadelphia Eagles: NFL mini camps
This season, the Philadelphia Eagles will have a new look. The Eagles started their 2010 minicamp with a lot of question marks, after several years of following the leadership of Donovan McNabb and Westbrook. The lack of this leadership has inspired some players to really give their all in the mini camps.
The Philadelphia Eagles, in their camp, had a lot of energy. To step in and get playing time, many of the players seem to see an opportunity as the team’s veterans have moved on to other teams in the league.
On their current 80-man roster, the Eagles have around 40 new players, but it is some of the players that have already been around that have help most of the attention in minicamp. For the Eagles, the quarterbacks have shared a lot of the spotlight.
For the Eagles, Kevin Kolb is slated to be the starting quarterback. He has shown a lot of promise in his fill in time for McNabb in his time as a reserve, although he has big shoes to fill. Kolb took a big leadership role for the Eagles in camp and looks to be a solid replacement for the former hometown hero. Kolb did make some mistakes during drills, even though there have been flashes of brilliance for him.
Working with the 2nd team, Mike Vick has been extremely impressive. He is running like he is in the best shape of his life and His throws are crisp. He seems to be back to the level that made him the NFL’s most exciting player before the controversies surrounding dog fighting.
