NFL Mini Camps: New England Patriots
The Patriots have had a busy offseason so far in 2010. The Patriots added a lot of new talent to their team in the NFL Draft this past offseason. In the NFL Draft the Patriots added 12 new players to their team. They have also made other offseason pickups, such as signing an undrafted player.
The Patriots mini-camp just took place where these players were invited to participate and show what they can contribute to the squad without the pressure of all of the team’s veterans around them.
Some of the rookies drafted by the Patriots were particularly impressive in this mini-camp. This includes several of the defensive players chosen by the Patriots. It looks as though the patriots have a few players that will be a help in the pass coverage aspect of their defense.
Jermaine Cunningham, an outside linebacker, has looked as though he will be a useful tool in pass coverage. Devin McCourty was chosen in the first round at defensive back. He has looked every bit as good as he was advertised coming out of the draft. He may even have an opportunity to earn a starting job on defense for the Patriots if he is able to keep up this good work.
On the offensive end of the ball Taylor Price, a wide receiver, has looked like he will be able to contribute to the receiving core of the Patriots. Tom Brady will be able to look for him as an option if he continues to run routes this well.
